well i think the japanese have mastered the ultimate comfort of the western toilet. heated seats, soothing sounds of water running, all sensored to when you sit down. not sure why but their toilets, the easter ones, are still holes in the ground with a pole to hold onto so you dont fall in.

whats the magic numbers for designing for 800x600 users and should i bother with them.. my target is design angencies.

hahaha, i know exactly what you're talking about - i grew up in japan. during summer, i spent my time in the country side (my uncle's house) and he had that squatting toilette with huge hole. as a kid, i was always scared of falling into that pile of crap and god knows what.then in the 90s, my parents remodeled their house they installed that modern japanese/western toilettte you mention: heated seat, bidet and ass washer with a button to change its water temperature and pressure...
when i visit them, the first thing i do is to go to one of the bathrooms (or toilette rooms in japan).
