Any advice for a print designer who wants to learn web design- mostly basic sites, some flash, mostly DW?
I know the basic tools in DW, Flash, but I want to master them the way I have the print design programs.
Books are hard to translate into working on the CPU for me.
do I take a class, practice by rebuilding sites..?
Anyone have a way that worked really well for them?
Thx in advance

I say start from the ground up, but that's just my opinion. If you want to learn Dreamweaver really well, first learn HTML/CSS really well.
Dreamweaver etc. should be a tool to help you do it faster, but not do it for you. You should learn how to hand-code.
I think if you want to learn how to use Flash, Actionscript is key if you don't just want to animate things.
Plenty of online resources:
Flash:

www.flashkit.comHTML/CSS:

read some usability books. I have seen good print designers produce ass web sites because they have trouble seperating the two.

css is similar to using stylesheets in quark, but yeah learn how html works. i wouldn't go as far as learning how to hand code, but enough that you can fix the code if you see a problem.
good intro to css:
