i dont know how many people have encountered this problem? but its a bitch!
after loading songs from cd to itunes to ipod it just kinda stopped! rebooted then it just stayed on the apple logo just loading? and now it turns on but the the monitor never turns on?
i tried disk repair and it says its fine?... tried to format the drive and it doesnt recognise it?
i also need to get some of the files out of there too!
any suggestions?

just turn the compuetr on and wait for ten minutes and it should get over it by itself...

if it doesn't ever boot, then get another persons mac and boot your powerbook into firewire mode (hold the T key) then hook it into their computer with a firewire cable and drag your files off...
best way to do it

what myobie said.

myobie.. i tried that trick.. it worked it took 10 minutes to boot up. the monitor is still off on the powerbook so i cant see shit.. but i can see my drive on the other computer which is all i need to do backups..
thanks everyone

when you boot up from another computer - your machine just becomes another external harddrive -- did you at least see a firewire symbol?
you're not supposed to see anything else. :)

nope i dont see anything.. my screen is off like as id the computer is off.. but the computer is on.. very weird.. at least i can access file off the other computer though..

dude relax-
try to boot it again after letting it sit for a few minutes.
Or boot from your CD, repair permissions and everything will be fine-
the ipod is simply an external device and it can not kill your computer.

hahaha yes puter i know it cant kill it.. i was just being sarcastic.
ive let it sit for 30 minutes maybe more after bootin but still nothing.
repairing permissons? is that via the cd, because thats the only way my monitor turns on.
ive saved the needed files via the firewire thing now i just gota wipe it out an reinstall everything.
