Don't waste your time or money. I was optimistic about the state of modern cinema after Collateral. How wrong I was. It's piss poor from beginning to end.

I was talking with one of the stars of the orignial Assault on Precinct 13 (he wanted me to do his site - for free!) - he told me Tarantino wanted to remake it, this was in '97 maybe? - I wonder if that's how the remake project got going? its (the orig) is pretty great. Check it out.

That was a HORRIBLE movie.

The sad thing is the stark contrast between Hawke in Training Day and this piece of shit. I liked him in Training day, I hated him here. He is not a leading man.

The critics would agree with me about Collateral, pablito. It was well-paced, well acted, good action on top an entertaining but predictable story. Plus there are some really beautiful shots of LA.

thats too bad... i was hoping for a good movie.
And i thought E.Hawke did a great job in Gattaca. Not sure if he is an action hero though...
Collateral was a good movie once you got past tom cruise + the silver suit/hair.

Couldn't have said it better. There's also a remake of The Fog in the works, produced by Carpenter and Debra Hill themselves. Such a fucking shame. Do yourselves a favor and watch Carpenter's originals, people. And boycott stupid fucking remakes. I wonder if they're gonna remake every film Carpenter's made... :/
