i have a quick flash question...
im doing this site:
http://www.ventitre.net/23_websi…the rollovers, right, when i rollever the spots quickly, you dont see the "suite studio" coming back, because i made a "on rollout, suite studio gotoand play bla bla"
is there a way to ensure it rolls back even when the cursor is too quick?
- fusionpixel0
put your onrollouts on each of the buttons
for example
buttonA.onRollOver = function() {
doYourThangForButtonA();
}buttonA.onRollOut = function() {
doYourThangForButtonA();
doYourThangForSpots();
}got it?

i think thats what im doing no? its just that if your cursor moves too quick it doesnt sense the command... this is how it is:
on (rollOver) {
SS.gotoAndPlay(2);
CreativeStudio.gotoAndPlay(2);
}
on (rollOut) {
SS.gotoAndPlay(9);
CreativeStudio.gotoAndPlay(10);
}

use hitTest() instead
- usrper0
hitTest()
what does that do? and how should i write up?
sory
- fusionpixel0
you can use hitTest but I have never had problems using the RollOut command, just make sure there is anything interfiring in there, maybe that is your problem.
- usrper0
it has always been a problem with me. if cursors too fast, it just doesnt take the rollover
- spmitch0
onClipEvent(enterframe){
if(_root.movieclip.hitTest (_root._xmouse,_root._ymouse)){whatever you want to happen;
}
- spmitch0
I think it is just a Mac flash player thing?
- usrper0
hm...
so i put this script int he first frame in the scene, rite?
and i put "whatever i want to happen" inside the brakets?
- usrper0
o why its working for you?
i mean, theres no problem?
- spmitch0
It used to, I think new flash player or new Safari fixes it
onClipEvents are attached to movie clips
where is unfittoprint ( the flash genius) when you need him
- usrper0
ok.
so i suppose i have to make a new mov clip for each of the black spots, instead of the invisible buttons i have rite now.
and then put the hitTest script in each mov...
rite?
- spmitch0
just right click>convert symbol to
- usrper0
thx spmitch,
so in the whatever you want to happen section, do i put on rollovers and on rollouts?
- fusionpixel0
mah friend, the help we can provide is more standard to what a good tutorial would do,
check out
http://www.kirupa.com/developer/…
I am sure that will help
cheers
- usrper0
hahaha i know how to make a button! ahhahaha
i was just not sure how the hitTest script works therefore i doknt know where to put and what to put in it..
- spmitch0
ok so this will probably solve your problems with out using hitTest()
try this>
this.onEnterFrame=function(){
this.onRollover{
gotoAndPlay("over")}
this.onRollout {
gotloAndPlay("out"
}
this.onPress {do whatever
}
}
- usrper0
ok maybe i suck too much even to raise the question...
gotoAndPlay ("over")
so over is some sort of variable that i need to tell it what to do somewhere else?
sory again
- fusionpixel0
LOL
priceless,
usrper, i thought you said you knew how to make buttons
:-P
"over" is the frame label that you are sending the playhead to.
You need to read the tutorial I gave you earlier, trust me, its good for you
- spmitch0
over would be a frame label
