Flash / XML / client updating

A client has CD they distribute to their clients, which has an Excel spreadsheet and numerous .pdfs. The spreadsheet outlines their different products, descriptions, info, and links to .pdfs on that disc. What they want is an interface to load when the user inserts the CD, and then access the info that way. So I am thinking a flash/XML mix would work, and they want to be able to update and change the products/info. Seeing as they are currently doing this in an Excel spreadsheet and arent very technical, is there a way to convert an Excel file to an XML document? Or any advice on how to make it as easy for them to update this thing other than making them edit the XML document directly?
Thanks

be honest with you, if they are that stupid and cannot edit a simple ass XML file via whatever, it's gonna be a pain. you could develop the thing to also be read from a .txt file as well. Converting tables in an .xls file to .xml might get a bit sticky, but I would do a Google search first bro.
Wow on that note Google is magic: http://www.google.com/search?hl=…

Might want to google on software that could conver the Excel to XML. I'd stick to one specific software package that always outputs the same way.
