looking for some way to have a backdrop/background that switches in between solid colors for photography purposes
wtfimean?
imagine a big big plastic lcd type (projecter screen material) wall sized screen that switches between red blue white and green on my control
is there anything like that?looking for a simple solution... i was thinking of using a slide projector with color gels .but it wont work right? because it will project color all over the model/subject and alter the colors of everything i'm assuming
there has to be soemething

rear projection? if you have space behind the screen.

1)can't you just have the models in front of a white translucent sheet? and have the projector shoot color onto the sheet from behind?
or
2)manipulate photo in PS, by shooting model in front of a green screen...like in movies?

make a big lightbox with flourescent tubes behind an opaque panel and change the colour with sheets of lighting gel clipped to the front
or the expensive option would be use side emitting fibre optics and change at source with a colour wheel
- dddc0
great idea ad1!
can you show me an example of these 'lighting gels' online somewhere? are they like rolls of paper kind of?http://www.starmgc.com/fiberop.h…
is that what youre talking about?
- ad10
yeah, lighting gel comes on the roll.
fibre optics would need to be "side emmiting". they generate heat only where the light source is so you could build a flatter panel than with tubes and you could change the colour easily with a switch. expensive option though
