i am just outta college and im doing freelance work. i got a gig doing a rap lable website, but its for a very small amount of cash considering the work im doing for it. when he told me the most he would pay, i was considering telling him good luck finding another designer, but any cash is cash. so, my question to you all is do i do my best work for this to build my portfolio and let this guy get away with murder, or do i give him what he paid for?

don't get in the habit of doing things half arsed. It'll become a habit and you'll have a shit portfolio, a shit work ethic and no ambition.

best work or don't take the job.

do us a favor and don't do the site cause chances are the music sucks and i don't want to hear it.

If you can do an amzing job with it then do it. Even though these gigs are low paying they have the potential [depending on the client] to be excellent projects both for yourself and your portfolio.

haha, feel that...

Do it as well as you can man. If you're out of college you'll want the strongest portfolio possible. Don't shoot yourself in the foot just because the client is tw*t.

considering the fact that you're just out of college...
... I'd listen to snuggles and paddy above.
Build your portfolio and do gorgeous work no matter what.
