Since I've developed a taste for nice hotels I wondered if you knew of a really cool place to stay in Berlin. Not too expensive either.

If you're going to Berlin and you want cool accomodation, there really are only two hotels you can consider.
The Propeller Island City Lodge
Hotel Kunsterheim Luise
Have fun and dress warm. It's a great city.

that propellerisland is the german equivalent of the dutch Hans Brinker Hotel

We went fer new years and stayed here: http://www.arcotel.at/velvet.htm… It was lush, if a little corporate. The location is really spesh, it's right next door to one of the biggest surviving 'free spaces' (kinda like a squat but better) in Berlin. V. cool. Dont forget to visit Alte Schoenhauser Strasse and have a walk around there.
