How come my shiny new G5 doesn't recognize a CD that I just put in that contains the following files:
autorun.inf (i know it won't run)
cd.ico (just an icon)
an .rfl file (reason refill)This is the 3rd of 3 installtion CDs and the Mac won't even acknowledge that there's a CD in the tray...I can't even view these files in Finder. What gives?

mac != autorun

I know mac doesn't autorun, but the machine won't even recognize and display the contents of the CD in finder?
- ribit0
Was it written in ISO 9660 format? (PC/Mac compatible) pretty much the standard now..
- ribit0
or is it CD+R?
- jox0
It's probably a +
- jox0
Right, too late.
- kbags0
Nope, it's CD-R and I the first two discs of the series, which are the same type of CD, work just fine???
- 5timuli0
Prob cause they're downloaded dodgy CDs? That'd be my guess. ;)
- kbags0
They're NOT downloaded dodgy CDs. They are copies of original software that I purchased and archived, thank you very much!
And they installed on my Windows PC just fine I might add...

Lol, the ol spitshine can't even make this CD rise to the occasion. Total strangeness!
- elahon0
You said they're copies from originals that you bought. Still have the originals in your possession?
Have you done installations with this particular set of copies before?
Maybe the third CD just shit the bed. Technology is a wonderful thing.

This has absolutly nothing to do with the CD bug but it is, however, another Mac question. Here goes nothing:
How do you get the URL adress activated using a shortcut on your keyboard in Safari? Like Alt+D on IE (win). By 'activated' I mean like when you click on it and mark all teh text. Capiche?
- Gorbie0
command (apple) + a
