  I guess I didn't explain myself clearly.

  How do you make the background of a website change from a light to dark color, let say, and then when you open the window further, the gradient just continues...wihout a break...

  you can create a HUGE 1 pixel widht 10000 pixel height gif with the gradient and tile it up. so it looks like it goes forever.

  also I think you can do it with CSS but I am not sure about that.
