hello, I have created an artwork in illustrator 10 and outside the artboard area are loads of white boxes etc to mask some images.
When I create the EPS it wont let me just create it at the artboard size, but includes all the white boxes outside the area. Anyway of stopping this?

may be try adding crop marks

dont think it will let you crop to artboard - unless you export as a pdf - then distill it to the artboard size.
put the images in masks within the artboard perhaps?

crop marks didnt work, and the artboard size can't change....

images in masks - within the artboard. box over image, command + 7.
the file will always include all objects on the artboard.

do you need to save it as a eps?
if not, try the save for web option, you should be able to set yr artboard size there

- use pathfinder to unite all your boxes into 1 shape.
- create a box to your exact artboard dimensions on top
- with these 2 pieces use pathfinder again to chop off and delete all the excess white shape outside of the artboard.
pathfinder is your best friend.

or save as .pdf... anyone who can handle EPS should be able to open and work with .pdf vector art.
unless the poor souls are Corel users.. bless.

cool thanks for the advise, I'll give it a go.

if you don't need to edit it anymore just throw it into photoshop and crop it.
done and done.

Do what tmig said or just creat a big fuck off clipping mask around the pastboard.
