Below is an email I received at work today.
All,
With all the upcoming awards we’d like to increase our chances of winning as much as possible. By “increase our chances” I mean shamelessly contacting any judges for the awards that you may know (friend, former colleague, etc.) and casually mentioning that "My Company" plans on entering that competition. I know all of this might sound contrived, dishonest, and down right underhanded, but as the saying goes “it’s who you know” that gives you that upper hand— especially when it comes to these award competitions. On that note, I will let you peruse the attached list of judges. Hopefully some of the names will look familiar.
I will send updated lists as names are posted for additional competitions.

that's bad. is this worse?
the company i work for has a monopoly on a service/product sold to college students. young college students eat it up w/out thinking twice, older college students, are sick of our shit and know they can do better. so, instead of fixing our service/product, we have created the same product, under two different company names, and began selling the product at a very small discount hoping students will buy it because it is not the company they hate, but it really is, just with a different company name.
what b fucking s.

We've stopped submitting to the local Addy shows because it IS all about who you know and who kisses the best ass. Everyone knows when the winning submissions are all political and there's less respect for that studio when it's obvious they did not win by merit.
