How many of you with ipods have yours keep playing after your battery meter shows that it should be drained?
I've been wondering why I'm only getting around 4-5 hours out of a recently purchased ipod. A friend told me that he gets at least 3 more hours after the meter is empty.
What's the story? Will I have to tape a coaches stop watch to my ipod to know how much juice is left?

hahaha! same here. i'll keep running it and mysteriously the little battery bar will have grown!

Mine is kinda strange too - I leave it to charge for a fairly long time (way longer than my gf's), and it still doesn't give me the fully charged symbol.
I am also getting easily 4 hours of life without losing the last bar.
ps. god damn i love that little thing.

obviousy, the large iPods are going to have larger batteries and last longer, I'm just a little disappointed in my mini iPod's ability to play longer than 8 hours.

I hear the voice of our "humble narrator" saying, "I want to smash it!"
that's what I hear when I think it's about to die after only 5 hours.
haha

those things are like you're computers hard drive, they need to be restarted everyonce in awhile. each ipod has a different way of being reset. check the manual that came with yours on how to do it.
that may help the battery indicator display the proper juice. if your ipod is older, run the update for it.
can't wait to get my hands on an iPod Shuffle. brilliant.

At least the headphone jack doesn't crap out like my Creative Zen I bought in 03.
Still use it for a hard drive though.
