lux you should also check out the the rembrandt house, it's pretty touristy but worth it. There's lot's of good pubs in Amsterdam, unfortunately I never made it out to any of the clubs, but if I did I would've checked out Paradiso and Melkweg...

hold on. service is by default bad in amsterdam. except asian etc. restaurants. no let me rephrase that: service is by default bad in amsterdam when it's a hip 'n trendy bar or restaurant or club. seriously. like they're sooo cool that even the waiters are too cool for skool. like, you mortal have to be so goddamn happy / fall on your knees and thank god if they spend their valuable time for taking your order.
amsterdam is dead btw.

cheers rabattski.
You need to go to Rotterdam man, that where it happens.

What about Utrecht? Does it happen there?
- rabattski0
i know dude. when (if that will ever happen) i'll move back to holland than it's gonna be rotterdam and rotterdam only. always had good times overthere.
- rabattski0
utrecht? too small. it's a big village, not a city. way too many students, too boring.
- mr_snuggles0
that's too bad, if my wife and I relocate, it will probably be to Utrecht, but still it's relatively close to both dam's at least

why rotterdam? Whats the advantages? Just curious, We didn't get a chance to make it over there.
- rabattski0
utrecht has a very central location so it's easy getting around.

I live in Utrecht, only because I can get anywhere from there. It's pretty nice there, but it definitly doesn't happen there.
- mr_snuggles0
That's ok, we're getting out of the 'scene' anyways and if I get the job I want there, then I'd be more than happy just working...

rotterdam because the focus always has been on amsterdam, like how cool and hip and creative it is and in the meantime when nobody looked (you know like trendsetters and magazines and cool boring people) rotterdam was working on it's own agenda, just going with the flow. it's way more laid back. just do what you can do and do it well instead of amsterdam's flaunting everything.
the artists i know in rotterdam are way more relaxed / laid back. not caring about networking or knowing the right people etc. like how most artists are in amsterdam.
that + the fact that the city of amsterdam tore down so many squatted buildings (silo, kalenderpanden, vrieshuis etc.) and replaced it with yuppie crap so that most artists couldn't live there anymore. most moved away. most to rotterdam.
and music wise is rotterdam more interesting.

What kind of job your applying for?
- mr_snuggles0
It's with a studio called Dietwee, I love their work and I've been after them for a while, and they've got my book right now so we'll see, but I actually don't think it will work out seeing as I don't speak dutch but I am willing to learn!
- rabattski0
ah dietwee. solid.
