Hey.. Just bought an MT appliance server.. now I am trying to use my own nameservers rather than mediatemple's. However, when I try to register the DNS with my registrar, I get an error which says that the IP will not allow this operation... weird. MT wont help me cause they say I have root access and can handle it myself,,, and my registrar says its MT's issue and wont provide assistance (rightfully so)... So anyone know how to work this out? In Plesk?
Much thanks

I have just tried to change my named server as well but my current host stats that the name server contains invalid chacters "ns1.mediatemple.net" but it doesn't.
I have contacted my host I think they will get back to me tomorrow (it is 23.56 here).
I'll let ya kna of any change here

man I reckon a bunch of people are having this problem with MT's offer. I think it's really all MT can do to help seeing as it is their very nice offer causing all teh probs!

Have you heard other problems then Jevad?

Nah I was just thinking that this would be happening to anybody taking up their offer and trying to change DNS settings - it's not so simple

Believe you me I am not that techy at all but after reading through the documentation it seemed that all one needed to do was change the Name Servers from my previous registrant (123reg). Could you elaborate?
