where are you working?
- opiate0
I was there in sept. checking out the city. Stayed downtown at the crown plaza. I can't think of the name of the area. But we alked down past china town towards the piers. Seemed like a chill area.

what type of stuff are you into dude? we can probably help recommend a good area that you'd enjoy living in..
and also, where ya gonna be workin?

north beach? kinda crowded with tourists but definately a interesting place. Don't plan on finding a parking place unless you rent a garage($$$).

you should live in the Haight.. sounds right up your alley.
im at Haight & Cole in Upper Haight right by the park..
Cole Valley is actually my favorite neighborhood... you get the craziness of Haight Street and the nice little bakeries/coffee shops/restaurants of Cole Valley

- nick0
you dont get ripped if u know how to buy.....
you say hey, im lookin for a 40.
you look at the bag..
you smell the bag [break open and sniff a bud if you must]
if it smells like chronic and looks like about 3 grams.. buy it.
i do this every few days :)

my favorite neighborhoods:
-mission (either around 24th and folsom)
-Dolores park area
-lower haight/hayes valley/alamo square (due to central location)
-certain parts of western addition (closer to divisadero, better it is)
-panhandle/upper haight/cole valley/inner sunset
-duboce trianglei tend to focus on central location to night-life and restaurants...so i can bike to anywhere.

Thanks guys! Good stuff...
looking forward to the northern cali. homegrown

and, should I get rid of my car?
- ourcommon0
you'd like upper haight or the "new" hayes valley ..
- grafholic0
i have a car. depending on the neighborhoods, you can find descent street parking (if your area has permit parking, it's about 28 bucks a year). some areas are more difficult to find, so definitely ask around if you are going to drive everyday.
or you can get a garage for additional 150-250/mo.
since there are hills around here, having a car is definitely nice when you go grocery shopping, etc.
but it's all relative of your lifestyle.
- nick0
yeah, i dont think you need a car in this city.. the public trans is pretty great.

"new" hayes valley?
like there's "old" hayes valley???
