Adios, Amigos!
Damn, are a lot of Latinos moving into DC-Metro? That'll change that area up real quick.

JazX? did you ever listen?
there were rumors that my favorite station DC101 101.1 was going spanish too... but no probably not since HFS went... but this is the 2nd big hispanic move in the last 5 years for radio stations..

i caught the switch yesterday just after noon. how creepy. i remember when HFS played REM's Gardening at Night in '81 and i thought, yea this is refreshing... unfortunately they becam a media tool after Infinity Broadcasting bought them and have recently been just another Stone Temple Limp Tool since.
It's depressing the capitol of the US doen't even have a a freakin' college staion to hear new on... jeeze louise..

slinky, when I used to drive through the Beltway in college I used to jam to 101. I think I also remember 99.1 as well. I have a good friend living in College Park (Greenbelt), MD. I must have heard this station.

It was going to happen sooner or later HFS was going down hill in ratings for the past 2-4 years.
Junkies are going back to mid-day on JFK.
But who really cares they were/are - terrible anyways (Donkey).

Thank god... it needed a whole in its head. It was really bad when i went home to baltimore to only listen to 92Q
plus they have that dipshit dj, the one who wears the baseball cap all the time, god i hated that guy

Funny to see a post about this, I was just listening to Stern here in Vegas and they were playing a clip from when it switched. Hah.

the suprised the shit out of me... mostly because i hadn't listened to them in years (even though i still live in the area) .. but it was time for it to go... everytime i tuned in they sounded more and more like simpsons charcatures of MTV VJs
Still though... my first real concert was the first hfstival at the PG race track (i think that's where it was) umm... Soup Dragons....

although i have steered away from radio in recent years, made me a little ill to the stomach when I heard of the switch. I just remember being in my room, door closed, filled with teenage angst, listening to hfs all night long. And all those hfstivals I attended!!! Great memories....it will definately be missed....
