its awesome simply because of the free loop cd you get. Trust me...but ableton live 4 is still better

It's a fun piece of software.
I can spend hours just pissing about with loops and samples to make a cool little song that I happily delete afterwards and let NO ONE hear it.

it's adequate, they say, but nothing you would want to professionally produce music with. If you're on a Mac, stick with Logic or Pro Tools.

Used GB for about 2 months. It's really genius how it's all laid out. BUT it's a memory nightmare. Very unstable once you start building up tracks.
Don't know anything about the new version of GB though. They may have fixed the memory issue. I doubt it because they need to give people a reason to upgrade.
I bought Logic Xpress. Love it. It's a little more difficult to learn, but it's so much more stable and has the capabilities to do far more than GB.

I've been using soundtrack and for a music moron like me it's great and a lot of fun.
great resource for short stuff for 15 or 30 second spots, web sites, or putting music to winnebago man cursing

I new nothing about audio on the computer, but in about 4 hours I with GB I had my guitar plugged into the back of my Mac and had recorder a song. Great for when your writing and mucking around with ideas.
