Ok, I'm on newegg.com now and I'm about to press checkout button and get the new parts for the computer but.

Before I do that, I would like to ask someone for a last minute advice or comment on this configuration:

    CPU: 2 x Intel Xeon 3.6 Ghz EMT64 800 mhz FSB
    MOBO: ASUS NCCH-DL (i875 chipset - AGP/DDR1 unbuffered)
RAM: 4 Gb DDR400 OCZ Performance series 4x1gb (CAS 3-3-3-8)
HDD: Seagate 300Gb SATA150 NCQ hard drive (8ms)
DVDR: NEC 16X Double Layer DVD±RW Drive (4xDL)
    DVD: ASUS Black 16X DVD-ROM/ 48X CD-ROM Drive
CASE: Lian Li Black Alum. ATX Mid Tower PC-V1200B
PSU: Thermaltake Silent PurePower 680W (with Active PFC)

Now, this is pretty much what I want, however I have some doubts about a few parts.

1st. I don't know if $400 in price difference makes sense between Xeon 3.4 CPUs against Xeon 3.6. Should I maybe save a few hundred bucks by going for 3.4?

2nd. I narrowed down my choices for the DVD burner to Pioneer A08 drive and this NEC. The price wasn't much of an issue, I just wanted a good reliable burner with the highest speed available. I know Plextor 716 burner just came out but it's twice the price and I don't really know if it's that much better. The same goes with Pioneer A08XL version.

I'm gonna use my existing 9800XT AGP card in this machine, because I don't think that PCI-E will be used to it's full potential for at least 2 years. The price/performance ratio between DDR2 400 / PCI-E against DDR1 400 unbuffered / AGP 8x, is just unacceptable.

Some people suggested that I go with Opterons 250 instead of new Xeons, but I'm just too afraid that they will not work as smoothly as I would expect while multitasking/Flash/Photoshop/Aft... Effects. What do you think?

    Thanks.
