i was given an icon that's 16x16 and told to make it 32x32. are there any free programs for this?

I like Icon Builder by icon factory works as a filter in photoshop http://www.iconfactory.com/iconb…

Make yourself a gif, then import it into and icon creator, and save it as an .ico

i don't think you'll have much luck going from 16 to 32. you'll definately have to touch it up, or even completely reset it.
for converting to or from .ico i use aicon, which you can download here:

Or you can just use Photoshop and this plug-in.

Graphic Converter also supports .ico format.

thanks, i don't think they cares that it's just a stretched image, just as long as it's 32x32.

just rename the .ico as an image file and open it up in Photoshop. I think one of these works fine (.gif, .bmp, .pic, .jpg).
Rename it after you get done editing and voila.
I downloaded Irfanview a long time ago and it's the great little app for converting anything to anything. Even plays movies and slideshows now. U should get it. :)

ok, the programmer that needed the icon was going to use it as the icon for a self-extracting zip file he's making but when he uses the icon that i made him, it comes up with an error message. are there different types of icon files?
