How many of you out there have taken the plunge to working entirely as contract or freelance? I'm thinking about doing it so I can bounce around the u.s. while I'm young. Advice? Thoughts? Thanks!

I'm a freelancer full time here in Savannah until I move to Chicago in a few months. I love the freetime to work on my personal stuff & to spend time with my bitches.
Just be careful of becoming lazy.

Personally, I dig contractor work. I don't need benefits, they are overrated. I am not sick. It pays more. As for 401k BS, I don't plan on retiring in the US of A anyway. When me parents die off, they will leave me ~2 Million. Enough to live on in Afrique, like a jungle emperor.

Lucky you JazX. I can't say I've got the same future...but I'm not too worried about relying on a company for 401K. I don't trust any company enough to believe that the money they put in will still be there when i make it to 60.
