What are the drawbacks of detecting a user's resolution and serving a different flash file to them, specifically those users on 800x600? Besides dev time...

maintainability? especially if the data's not read off of external feeds.
otherwise, i dunno. if you want to put the work in to build it, go for it.
if you're writing in AS2 and can just share yr class files, the interface can do pretty much whatever. it's only display.
what kind of site we talkin' here?
