i'm looking to get a dell laptop to go along with my pc. How would a "PentiumĀ® M Processor 755(2GHz/400MHz FSB)" with a gig of ram compare to my current pc which is a pen 4 2.4 with a gig of ram.
(as far as running photoshop, flash, etc)
I'm not in the know about these 'M' processors. I'd hate to spend close to 3 grand tricking this thing out if its gonna run slower them my current setup.

*bump*
so are those moble processors worth a hoot? or dell laptops for that matter?

i don't know the specs on the laptop, but if you're running a 2.4 Pent, with a 400mhz FSB, you're going to be going a lot faster than a mobile proc in a laptop (mostly because of the memory speed, not so much the actual proc). you might not notice the diff for most things, but you will if you're doing video rendering or higher res PS stuff.

oh, duh.
nevermind.
i didn't see that the laptop had the same FSB.so yeah, probably not too big of a diff. if that's the case then, really you're only bottleneck is the hard drive access/spin speed.
