Hey everyone I have recently started a project where I hope to publish a childrens book series and im starting form scratch... has anyone any experiences with such work and can give any pointers, tips, or suggest essential pieces of kit which would help the job go much smoother from the initial rough drawings to the redrawing (vectorising) colouring process to printing ?
Software in mind is Illustrator (tempted to stick with freehand though) along with photoshop and Indesign (not used it before but buying it for the job)
Very interested in the responce.. (feel free to ask more questions if what ive posted is not clear enough)

i would stick with adobe. freehand might be a bitch when you try to open its files somewhere else.

i had that concern too, but not to change what the thread is about but I find freehand much nicer to work with for some reason. But very good point warheros, so Im using Illustrator for the job to avoid that.

yeah, freehand is easier in some instances but i wouldnt want to have shit not working, you know?

Anyone else got any thoughts ?
