I liked the general style of the site but I found it to be a little confusing, with the sifting nav moving arround so much, wich also slowed it down.

i am starting to see a lot of these blob architectural concepts. i guess it's good for what they are. this type of project focus so much on the theory and form. there's no sense of material. it's always these slick seductive images.
i'd prefer architects like peter zumthor or herzog de meuron.

i think buildings like this will never work.
for the same reason replicas of the batmobile never went into production and sold to consumers. it was impractical.

yeah, the purpose of the project believe it or not isn't to get built. The class was headed by Hani Rashid (http://www.asymptote.net) and the course was a focus on formal studies alone. A common thing at Columbia.

i think columbia needs some serious program change. i am sick of all the same 3d renderings they produce. they've been doing this stuff for a while. it's time to move on.

i actually do like the outside, but IMO museums should be about light, space and the interior wall dimensions in relation to each other and the work they are meant to display.
the interior space may turn out to be just as groovy as the exterior, but until i walk through it i can't really say whether it is a good thing or not.

i have talked to many out of Columbia and most are happy with their education but i have heard quite a few major complaints as well (especially the students from different countries).
