hi...i'm trying to convert a TTF to OTF. when i try to generate a font, it only allows me to save as .VBF and font file as mac suitcase.
suggestions?

there are plenty of other conversion tools to take a .ttf to open type format. your doing it for good reason as .otf's are great! what platform are you on? check http://www.downloads.com for those trial conversion tools.

thanks jax. i'm on osX. i'm working with OTF, but sometimes a client sends a TTF and screws me up!
can you recommend an app? i've looked around and fontlab looks decent. just can't figure out why it's not generating!

ok but you could also just take the .ttf and convert to Mac format as well. Maybe using something like CrossFont, but not sure if that's for Mac osX as well. http://www.asy.com/scrcf_go.htm

TransType 2.1.1 (Mac): http://www.download.com/TransTyp… this is what you want mate ;)

after all your help jax, i've figured out what's wrong. if i've got too many active fonts, i won't be able to generate OTF. i've got to disable and then generate as "2 bold". this seems to work.
i guess it's just a bug in 4.6!
thanks!
