anyone using one of these? how come you can get two for almost the same price as a 23"?
- BonSeff0
i use one and its plenty big. but a 30 would be real nice

I think because the 23 and 30 are HD
and the 20 is not
20-inch Apple Cinema Display
M9177LL/A23-inch Apple Cinema HD Display
M9178LL/A30-inch Apple Cinema HD Display

Also I presonally like having one huge monitor rather than 2 smaller.
the 23 is really big...

I bought a 20" today, Im a little paranoid, I think I see a pink cast when compared to my powerbook screen.. and the middle grey looks so pale, again, compared with the powerbook lcd. Isnt the pink tint only affects 23"s??
- timg0
you're prolly paranoid.. do a run through color calibration and it'll be all good.
the pink issue was a 23" thing.

I want a dual 30" ...

btw i use a 20" and absolutely love it.
keep in mind 20" was the mid-sized screen with the previous line of apple flat panels. there's a lot of consumer pyschology at play here.. has our need for more screen really increased that much in the last 2 years.. or does apple just want us to think that way?

i've got one.
it works perfectly. it's plenty big for me. i love it.
whatever.

the screens will just keep growing, I'll be sure to purchase another monitor when they get to 50 "

we have 20's on the g5's in the lab...perfect for my photography and design needs.
how big is too big?? 40? 50? 60?
- inspiration0
we had a 30" on trial here at work. that thing is just too big. i was surprised as i always thought bigger was better - it's overbearing.
what are the exact benefits of HD tho? on the apple site they link to some box that allows you to view HD on apple screens instead of using a broadcast monitor. does anyone here do that? the box is super expensive.

Apple Store Sweden just plunged this particular model 30 percent yesterday, I might just order one today. Can I plug it right into a PowerBook without a fuss or would I need an adapter?

you greedy f0ckers :P

20 is way enough, i think..

Repeat the conclusions of this thread but replace the term inch with years:
"30 is way too old. Yeah, early twenties for me. We're looking for a 20, maybe 23. Over that is just too much.
And man, wouldn't it be great to do a pair of 20s?
10 years ago we were doing A 14-15 year olds but we have other needs now"
