Does anyone know how/ where to get a script that does that popup fade in thing?

It's an IE CSS filter, they are easy but only work in IE Windows, which almost everyone uses anyway.

if your div css style's overflow is set to hidden, and you make a javascript setinterval loop to 'grow' content's width&height from 0 you'll have a cross borwser friendly solution.

no - it works on Mox Ffx 1.0, or it did 10 seconds ago.
They had that on forums.devshed.com for ages.
Everyone should go to devshed for geheeky answers to things you've already promised a client, then come here to talk crap.
