well. not knowing your system or machine i'll pretty much be a what was it... forum rat and say something silly like wazzoo wacka wacka wing wong.
- cosmo0
wat operating system are you trying to install. Your OS cd has to be bootable to boot from cd, as far as i remember.
- mrdobolina0
go into bios and make the cdrom drive the first boot device.
Also quit being such a prick.
- warheros0
yesh, cosmo.
we need machine info.
- mayo0
kinda hostile for someone who is asking for help and hasn't really posted much to have had to endure abuse from forum rats...
squee! squeee! squee!
- mrdobolina0
must be a pc, he would have had OSX on his new machine if it were a mac. right?
- warheros0
i suggest:
find a computer forum, not a design community.
- Drno0

pentium4, 2,8

dude, without any info the only thing i can tell you is that on my mac, os9 and x i used diskwarrior and it fixed my shit right up. i had a broken folder and it wouldn't boot off the startup disk. in 5 minutes disk warrior fixed it all up nice.
cost you about 60 bucks i think on amazon.
now get out of here before i gnaw your legs off.
;)

What kind of machine is it? Combine Harvesters don't always accept the same sort of CD as Food Blenders, and somer older machinery like Steam Presses and Windmills may not even have a CD drive.
- mrdobolina0
DrNo, did you go into bios and make the cdrom drive the first boot device?
- Drno0
yeah i did, i tried configuring the bios, i also tried some booting disk from the net, but they didn't work
i remember getting the good one at bootdisk.com, but it doesn't work anymore
- mrdobolina0
in Bios, try turning off all other boot devices besides cdrom.
- Drno0
MrD didn't think about that, my motherboard doens't allow me to turn off some of them it just gives me the choice to select the order in which it loads the boot loader,
i knew i should stay with amd, never had this problem with their type of motherboard,
- danthon0
You will have to use the 6 floppy disk option. Sucks, but that is how you get the CD rom drivers if your bios is old.
Better go hit the local thift stores and see what you can dig up for floppies.
- mrdobolina0
radio shack still sells floppies.

ah yes he is one of us...... what was your handle before you got booted.... do we know you?
- warheros0
try calling windows help.
- Eli0
you only need 1 floppy, go here
http://btmgr.sourceforge.net/dow…
boot from this floppy, it will give you the option of booting from cd, put your cd in and tell it to go, regardless of your hardware this will solve your problem 99.9 percent of the time. It's free too.
