Hello friends,
I am about to buy a new Powerbook Laptop.. I can't figure out if the 15" or the 17" would be better. It seems that the 17" is really large, and hard to tote around. At the same time, I really want large screen..
Please advise friends..

Ok, why 15"?
17 is just too much, huh?
Does the 15 give enough room to design?

15...
If you really want to, you can always hook it up to another monitor when you are at home, if you don't feel the 15 is large enough. I think it's plenty big to design.

i have a nice 15" pb
screen is wide enough and the computer isn't too big and fits in all regular notebook bags
if you have the need of opening all your palettes in dreamweaver/flash/photoshop it works okay with a 15", but you can allways connect a second monitor if you get claustrophobic.

I goto OCAD where every design and advertising student needed to get a powerbook this year. I myself have a 17", but it is a bitch to carry around, the 15 is nice and compact, but lacks screen/design area enough to bother any real designer. My suggestion, if you need the lap to replace your home system, get the 17, if its just for the purpose of portaplility, the go with 15".... my 2 cents

The only reason people would want the 17, IMO, is when you don't carry it around much and it spends all its days on the desk. But then again, what the hell would you need a laptop for then. Go with the 15 and hook it up to a noyce external.
I just went from a 12" iBook to a 15.2" PB and the new screen is more than enough for most stuff you do on a portable.

midgets get the 17"

why not get a 12 inch and an extra monitor at home.

12" hasn't all the gig's and mhz's.

Whats the point in getting a monitor? doesn't that defeat the purpose of a laptop...!?!? If you've got the cash get a 17".
I have a 17" laptop and its ace working in bed, beats sitting at a desk.

go w/ the 15...it's more than large enough, i use the 14.1" iBook and it gets the job done.
peace.

the 17 is large.. too big to tote around.. only fits in briefcases and shit..
the 12 is small... no s-video out, no pci slot...
the 15 is the answer..
thats my 2cents...with me everywhere i go, and no one is the wiser...

wait till after next weeks conference. ALWAYS wait to buy till right after a conference... not before

PS.. i have the 17.. love it.. but I mainly use it as a desktop replacement that I can bring to work ... vacation etc.
but 15 is the best all around if you are on the Go alot

wait until 2 weeks from now when they release the next months before 2 week after 4 day sale because 4 days later itl be faster then next year they have 10 gigaflops! wow holy cow but its still too expensive, wait 5 days..

dont fucking wait until the next conference, that's bullshit.
it is a farse to say no real designer can design on the 15" screen, there is plenty of room on the screen. you can always get another monitor as well. goes up to 1280.
plus it's not fucking huge and looks like youre a bitch because you just had to have the most monstrous looking laptop out there.
15" all the way.
