Searched the DB and didnt come up with what I was looking for. If you were going to, or already have created a client area on your site, what features would you inlcude. Thanks comrades.

At work we set-up a small area that has:
1. Comps section for work
2. Contact Info for both parties
3. Summary section (we don't always use it, but its good to keep track of what's been delivered)
4. At the beginning we usually link to a copy of our proposal, so there will be a proposal section for that. That's about it, seems to work fine here.

thats cool. I set up a blog that accepts html code and posts it like news stories, a php-based calendar app, a php-based upload/download area and am just thinking what other bells and whistles I can add in that would completely contain all future projects. I actually had a pretty nerdy fun time setting it up over the long weekend.

Take a run through Basecamp. They are relatively light on features, but what they do is done very well. I would consider the ability to post messages, upload files, maintain contacts and project info, and setting tasks/milestones the essentials. http://www.pleenk.com (if memory serves) looks nice - very feature rich.

Thanks welded, I don't think my homemade version would be as robust as pleenk, but it is worth a look, Salud.

a client only area where contact detail info can be changed, history of past projects/works, a more advanced version of a project viewer indicating timeline and phase completion and [why not] some mini-site with a jukebox full of serious gangsta shit.
