AE mayor problem

Hi Folks, i've lost 2 days of work, because suddenly AE cant find the footage anymore.
And gives next:
After Effects error : parser cannot read this file or clipboard.
Anyone seen this before?Is it the problem from illustrator or AE?
Please help me.

Yes i did but it doesn't work out.
And it must be generic eps so working with jpg's and other bitmap formatted files are'nt a solution

but it has worked before and suddenly it doesn't work anymore right? and you didn't change the footage?

No i did changed a litle thing in the ai. files but just saved them (not a save as) and after that it doesnt work inymore.

well than there probably lies the problem. did you try to reimport / place it again in ae?

and what version illustrator do you work with and what version ae?

AE 6.5 and ILL CS
Reimporting didn't work out either.

I even can't import the Ai - files anymore.

try to save it as an older illustrator file like 8 for instance and look if it's usable then. my bet is that it has to do with file versions, that ae 6.5 can't import or has problems importing ill cs files.

oops. that doesn't sound good. something more going on. good luck though. sucks when apps don't do what they supposed to do.

copy paste in a ai new file and replace footage?

or in illy,export to psd file(with layers) and than us the psd...
an emergency solution though...

Nope Bart, it doesn't work.
And i cant do it in bitmap. It musy be vector.
But thnx anyway. Also big respect to the Antwerp Tuig Crew. Ah and i'm still waiting for the TUIG site.

how is the illustrator file buil up?
is it very complex?
