I've had sirius for about 8 months, and like others have said, I will not go back to regular radio unless sirius dies. But there are a few things that make me think it will not...
They have just inked a deal with Toyota to factory install sirius ready radios in all the new models. XM already has a deal like that with Chevy or chrysler, i think. In the next 5 or so years, it is plausible to thik that most all new cars will come with it already installed. So I believe that will help drive subscriptions.
I've also heard a rumor (strictly a rumor at this point) that Sirius has been talking to Apple about putting sirius on the Ipod...The problem right now is that Sirius hasn't figured out a way to make a receiver small enough to fit in the Ipod...

that would be the key. if you can get enough hardware vendors to support the product, then it might gain a lead.
but, you still have to pay the subscription fee, to my knowledge...whether your new car is equipped or not.
just like onstar. the hardware is pre-installed...but if you don't want to pay the fee it's basically off.
i don't like to pay for things i'm not going to use. why spend the extra cash on the car if you don't want the equipment?

you have the option to install satellite radio in BMW, Mercedes, and I'm sure many other brands. I know I can take my BMW to the dealership and have it installed. Anytime you see a car with that small, ugly "fin" looking thing on the back... that's satellite radio. personally i'd never put something like that on my car.

yes, you would still have to buy the subscription. But i would have to think that more people would think about doing it if it was already right there in the car...
I don't want you to lose a job, and I'm not trying to argue with you, but I do love some sirius, and I hate traditional radio...
I think it all boils down to how many people are satisfied with the crap they hear on the radio, versus how many people want to search out good new music.
Personally, I think sirius on the ipod could be huge, if that works out..

if Sirius gets iPod i hope XM radio gets the Creative Player. cause I like the Creative player and I already have an XM radio setup.

What are some other differences between xm and sirius (besides the programming and price)?
