I need a simple mailing list software.... Nothing fancy just put in all the email addresses in (about 200) and send out invite to the exhibition.
I'm on PC but i never use Outlook so something of teh shelf (or ever free) would be best.

Thunderbird? It's just another e-mail client though, maybe not what you're looking for.

With Gmail -- it's gonna show all those 200 adresses to everyone right? I don't want that.
With thunderbirt, how is it going to work (I got Firefox but never bother installing their mailing client as all those seem way to complicated to use compred to online email).

After a quick search on download.com I found these freeware programs:
Mail-Them 2.0

If you use Gmail, yes everyone will see everyone elses E-Mail address.
If you decide to use one of those programs I linked you to, you will need to go via a mail server, you are most likely provided with one from your ISP, or alternatively you can go through your website's mail server (providing you have one).

If you just took 5 minutes to read the manual...
The program I posted looks pretty self explanatory.
If you have any problems post them.

if you put your adresses on the "BCC" field, no one will see the others contacts.

Really? Never knew that!

if your server allows php, use the read function to retrieve a text file with each email separated by commas, parse it, and loop the result [another more advanced way is to have a database and, query it and loop the array], and send a separate email to each recipient.
If you use the correct headers, no email will be targeted as junk.

that's a very dangerous way to handle mass mail since the php process is running dependent on the browser / webserver session. this can (and will) cause many problems when the mailing list gets as large or larger than say 500 recipients.
problems such as not everyone receiving the email or even worse, some people receiving multiple copies of the email.
if you want to use php for sending mass email I would recommend calling an individual system process to handle this independent of the webserver / browser... or better yet use perl.
