iPod or TiVo?

All i ever hear is iPod this and TiVo that well finally i will get my wife one of these which one will she like better?

hmmm, but she isn't much of a computer user will this be a problem? she enjoys watching TV alot shes into reality shows etc...what can you do. I do miss some of my fav shows though and i would benefit from a TiVo aswell......

well this is all my opinion. If you two dig the TV, then get a Tivo. But you heard my reasons.

TiVo, no contest.
The iPod is more, uh, hip. But I doubt the missus would appreciate it as much as being able to record all her favorite shows and watch them whenever she wants.

i have both and my wife could care less about my ipod, as long as she can tivo like, oprah and shit...

Hello Willam.
I would recommand you get your wife a TiVo I just got one from my luv and its luvly. I think TiVo is something both of you can enjoy and your whole family, i wouldn't see myself as a female use an iPod more then a TiVo. I recommand the TiVo, hope she enjoys it the way i am.

or if she ever wants you to do something right in the middle of the gamee.....whammo..... save for the ipod for valentines or something.....and buy the thing for yourself.....

Screw Tivo, I just bought a ReplayTV and its way cooler and has some great open source software. You can move your photos to it and what not.
You can also take your shows off the Replay and burn'em to a DVD or VCD.

I heard to amny bad things about ReplayTV from people who tried to switch from TiVo to replayTV cause of sub costs but they all went back to TiVo. So Get a TiVo dude.

you will also be able to get Netflix movies on your TiVo umm replayTV won't Netlfix for TiVo is gonna be amazing cause netflix allows you to rent movies and games for as long as you would like. But only movies will be used threw TiVo cause consoles need cd/dvds. Still as soon as TiVo comes to Canada im getting on that shit, cause i used TiVo in the states at a friends Amazing!

I think Tivo is in danger of a shortened lifespan w/ many cable companies offering the similar services through your digital cable boxes.
plus tivo is a monthly fee or a lifetime service purchase at an additional cost.

i paid $200 for a tivo/dvd player with lifetime service. can't beat that.

Hey WilliamH, before you spring for TiVo, make sure your local cable provider doesn't already provide its own TV recording service. I know Time Warner in NYC has DVR, which is the same as TiVo except you don't pay for the box.

either would be a wonderful gift. Im not sure who said it but ladies tend to bore of gadgets sooner. they never tire of the tv though.

Hell nah... get the Archos AV400 series.... I got one of these babies and it slapped my Ipod off the table... plus looks alot sleeker. With this baby, it has hookups to plug right into your tv and you can record any show... even time it to record any show. You can then take it with you and watch it later on the actual player (4 inch screen). Plus does photo slideshows and audio. Even has a built in mic for recording... and you can get a camera to attach to it to take snapshots or record video. And to top it all off, it's PC/MAC compatible and works with Itunes. Got better ratings than the Ipod... and I believe it!
