No, lets get to the bottom of this. In general, inspite of language - do you congratulate the newborn or the one(s) that plopped him or her out? Or maybe even the birth itself?I don't know.
- stewart0
oh okay, i hope so clerk.
i just found a nice online introductionlesson to swedish.
i'm now learning this:

- MLVR0
Hehe... They don't really expect you to congratulate them in Swedish anyway do they? And with that translation you're not, so it's all good :-)
- clerk0
nah stewart it's all good, they basiclly say the same thing but the latter is a bit less formal.
- jox0
Well yes and no. It's better in the sense that it's more personal, but its worse in the sense that you're actually not congratulating them.
lol
- stewart0
ah fock,
now i wrote down already Scottjizzle's phrase.
and already licked the envelope.
is it really that bad?
- MLVR0
Nah... What jox said sounds better. The other sounds more like if you're congratulating their daughter.
- Ladyvipb0
Scottizzle's sound better, more personal, imo
- stewart0
damn swedish.
what's the best??
- Scottizzle0
Ett jättestort grattis till er lilla flicka!
(Basically: A big congratulations on your little girl - it doesn't translate well)
- stewart0
thanks a lot jox
- jox0
Yeah
- armed_rob0
you from sweden Jox?
- jox0
hahahah yeah, it's probably best to leave it out.
- dahl0
Whatever you write, don't write "knulla" !
- jox0
"Grattis till er nyfödda dotter"
- stewart0
