Getting Pics out of Googlesearch

does anyone know how to automaticly get the picture search results out of google?
The google api sadly supports only text research.
theres´s a technique called sraping . what's this all about and how is it done??
i've seen some internet art using the google picture search results......
i want to know how they have done that...
can anyone help please??Thank you

you can do that with php. but must say it isn't easy. was quite optimistic one day to find out how i could integrate google image search results into flash but i found out that it's quite a bitch :)

oh and one thing, i think you can actually pull it off with google's api but the "free" version is limited to a certain amount of search queries if i'm not mistaken. there was this website, in flash, something with home / houses, returned images of homes and houses thru google image search. i also think that google isn't a fan of pulling that kind of stuff off.

Thanks. Importing them into flash was something i had in mind...
maybe someone knows the website you are talking about...
yeah i know scraping the google search results is against the google terms of service.
but i had a kind of art thing in mind, so you maybe wouldnt even recognize the pics anymore.

it's not really a matter of recognizing or not it's more a bandwidth hijacking issue. i don't think they mind if your idea doesn't get a lot of hits. if it does, they'll notice and they'll prolly shutdown requests from your site.
