Take2, if memory serves, owns a stable of developers. They would be the money people.

Yes. In the gaming business, you have the developers, who are usually small groups of coders, artists, etc., who have no means of selling the stuff they make, and there's big players like Vivendi, Universal, EA, Virgin, etc., who sell the stuff, advertise it and take most of the money. Much like Hollywood and the record companies. Actually, it's usually all the same companies.

take2 games is top
under that you have global star (publisher) and rockstar (developer and publisher). under take2, you also have many many other development studios that are independently owned and only use T2 as their publisher. for instance, destineer games (developer & publisher) uses T2 as the publisher of the xbox versions of their games, but destineer publishes all of their pc and mac titles under their own name. T2 just has the distro power that most places can't get.
