Could the problem be with the image. is it an eps? is there some dodgy opi thing going on?
- scoops0
that sounds like an eps... can you resave in another format? tiff?
- Beech0
yeah rasterize that bisnarch.
If that doesn't work then you have a semi serious problem and reinstall might be the best option

yeah every image. had to do it in indesign 1.5 and it worked fine.
hey is there such thing as a preference file in In Design like in photoshop that i could just reset/delete so i dont have to reinstall? (its Indesign 2.0 that giving me the problems)
peace in advance.

3 things you can do:
- Never use an EPS for anything
- Make sure all photos have proper file extensions
- Upgrade to CS

thats some pretty serious paranoia you got going there tenatiousG

EPS have a habit of giving me hell. And being the content(slash)layout guy that I am, I like things simple. I, unfortunately, am not purely a designer. I (gasp) am a section editor...

reinstall, dude...
... you'll be better off for it. I agree with one of the above assessment - upgrade to CS!!
eps files are fine... just make sure that if you send an eps file and you didn't convert yer text to curvey-curves or rasterize it - you better give 'em da font... cuz eps's don't embed she-at.
I love.

Sounds crazy. Reinstal.
I've never had a problem with eps's from Illustrator. In fact, in InDesign, if they're vectors you can copy them straight across and they are vectors in your ID file, so no link.I love that me...
And i'm REALLY interesting

Sounds like you're using jpegs?
There is a known issue with InDesign and jpeg files saved with a thumbnail preview.
To resolve it, resave your jpegs as high res tiffs in Photoshop, and import those.
Alternatively, there's an InDesign update on the Adobe website which will solve the problem.
