is it worth applying for their MA programs? anyone have any experience?

it really hard to get in.. so good luck!
and i know a few people who got in and they all say that the teachers are all bigshot famous designer worth shit because all they want is to promote their own ego!
but it's all what yourself make out of it and it looks really good on the paper!

i wasn't very impressed with the "animation" work showcase on the site, so i reckon alot of bullshitting is in order to get your way through, as it is in the industry as well.
yeah i figure rca.ac.uk would look quite snazzy on any cv.

I'm considering going back to study as well. The whole situation is doing my head in. I only 'design' for fun / hobby, but really want in on full time basis. I must have read rakes of books on colour / design etc over the years, have a good grasp of a range of software, but for some fucking reason work in a non-arty post...
I've looked at Edinburgh College of Art as well.... looks good.

I think oyu need to think of it more that it is a great place with like minded people, and you have acouple of years to really get deep into projects.

my friend did the ma a couple of years ago and lived on pork pies and kestral super strength. he loved it but ended up doing architectural rendering at framestore now he sits next to me and makes games and shit in flash. i think he could do really well when he stops trying to make a million pounds making games.

I think it depends on why you want to do it. I did an MA at Chelsea school of art & design a few years ago. But the course was shite, hardley any lectures, really disorganised. Other people I know have had similar expirences doing MA's. I reckon some colleges view them as cash generators.
I know someone who did and MA in animation at the RCA, finished it a year ago. Works in HMV now.

Did a graduate certificate in 'design for visual communication' there before - I recommend it, teaching was great, but it was only a class of 7 as it was the first year of the course!

i'm not from the uk, so i guess i fell into the hype. i'm sure there's other schools. i'm still interested in attending a highly regarded school in the uk though, for the connections and exposure, that kind of experience is priceless.
and i was hoping to apply for an MA in animation, but after reading just alittle above about someone doing it and now working for just HMV, heh, i think i might reconsider..

I'm currently studying DMP (BA) at LCC, which is part of the university of the arts london.

University is nice, teaching is not too bad but could be much better.
Its the crap students that piss me off. I really thought when I left everthing to move to London there would be more passionate students. Most are jaffa's that don't want to get a job.

I considering Glasgow and Royal for next year. I got accepted at Royal this year but with clients pouring in I figured I might take the checks and do the student thing next year.
So who actually went to those schools and can report the good/bad stuff about them
