alternative to Orange Italic's Luxury fonts?

are there any nice alternatives to Orange Italic's Luxury set of fonts? their costs $1500. um.. that's like $1495 over my budget. (for reference
) . so are there any nice alternatives that look similar? or even recommend a nice serif font?

uh, no rabattski, I think the whole font set (Luxury font set) with a whole bunch of fonts and their variants is 1.5 Gs.
But yeah, that's still too much.

you're missing the point. they are priced so high as to be exclusive. it's not really the typedesign, it's the price that sets them apart. and try blair itc as well.

exactly, johndiggity is right on target as usual. It's set high for bigtime desingers and high profilers. I've met Christian Schwartz when he was at CMU in Pburgh.

:) yeah that's very true. especially when i read this:
quite smart actually, just set yourself apart from the rest by pricing incredible high and focus on luxury brands and not you know "ordinary" users etc. because typeface wise imo it isn't all that. anyways, yeah become the louis vuitton of typographers. really smart.
but i'm dutch thus a cheapskate and i'll never ever will pay $1500 for a single user license. although if it's a font pack.
chalet? i have a love and hate thing with chalet. it is really a nice typeface if it's used well but i've seen it too often in a bad way, you know like on cheap techno flyers that sort of stuff, even worse if they only use one or more of those illustrations that is provided with chalet.
