Right I am now officially fed up with Flash support on the Mac. it never used to be this bad.
I now find it almost imposable to use my favoutite browser (Firefox) because as soon as I load a processor intensive Flash site it bottoms out and freezes up :'(
The only browser I have that plays Flash content properly is Omniweb.
Why is this?
How can we get it sorted?
Is it Macromedias falut?
Is it Apples Fault?
Or is it just the browsers don't support Flash properly (Netscap 7, Safari, Firefox, Mozilla)?

(Dec 16 04, 02:19)It couldn't possibly be YOUR fault?
*exceptionaly sardonic today, due to being the only one sober at work.

What about IE? Is it shite for you on there too?

Flash is proper shit on my Mac in Firefox (DP 1.25, 1.25ghz RAM)
Works like a charm in Safari.
Wouldn't touch Explorer with yours...

Can't think wht it would be my fault? I am running a G5 at work, clean as a whistle too, no funny stuff loaded on it. Why can't any Standards based browser load up Flash content. I'm sick of Wintel bastards having all the fun :(

safari is better than ie... but none are as good as anything on a five year old PC!

The current flash player (7) was optimized for Unix and PC usage. Macromedia thought that since it was optimized for Unix, it would be an easy port to OS X, and well they were wrong. Best bet is to downgrade to ver6 right now, and 8 is right around the corner, and macromedia FINALLY designed it from the ground up in OS X, so it should be screaming fast.
In the meantime, use Safari.

Check the link and hold yer breath. Looks like the answer we've all been looking for.

Why not release a pre release version of Flash Player 8 now on OS X?
I would much rather have a buggy new version that plays smoothly rather than a vertually useless V7 player.
