So I find out today that the company I work for may be closing the office that I work in. This waiting game sucks.
How do the rest of you cope with precarious employment situations? Does it affect your creativity? I need some tips for this stressful situation.

um, i got by by having sleepless nights and just doing what I do. I'm mostly just a production artist and copy writer/editor, but i do my job damn well. To the point where the bosses depend on me for lots of different things on top of what i do. Most of our print jobs come straight to me. When I saw that the bosses appreciated my worth, that helped immensely and I got my sleeping pattern back in order.
But i'm in a studio and it sounds like you are in-house?

Like Nick said. Look out for you. I would be stressin about the situation too if I was in your shoes, but something good, if not better will come along. Just be ready.

Sac is about a 1.5-2 hour drive from here. I do it fairly often, so when there's a Sac Drink MeetUp and sometimes SF Drink MeetUp, i'll try and make it. That is, of course, if you haven't barred midgets from attending like you did last time. >:( ..|..

awwww hehehe, i think im finally getting an ID from a co-worker soon. so maybe in the new year we can have an SF drinks [w/ midgets allowed] how tall are you anyways? i love midgets.

How do you cope...When I found out that ML was closing our office in NJ I decided what I was going to do with my severence package, which I got just in time for summer. Not much creativity at my job so I didn't have to worry about that.

I've got the axe hanging over my head right now too nick. So I'll hop in your boat too.
I'm having major stress headache's. I'm not real worried. Mostly because I hate this place and this is the second time they've screwed me over.
I say, keep a positive attitude and make fun of ever single thing around you (even your stapler!).
My own personal edict is: It's only a job. I'm only doing it because i have to.
