Hello
New to this, but I've just redone my site, and wouldn't mind getting some feedback, mostly on how it works and what you think of the layout, nav etc etc.

Cheers

Like the layout the imagery is nice and it seems to work fine for me, but am a little unsure about the nav, but I guess it could be just me anyway like it
- bumbibot0
Thanks.
Yeah a few friends flagged the duplication of the nav, but that's kinda the point, it makes for a nice rhythm across the site. I kinda wanted there to be nav at each section of text. It seems odd I think because you get two dropdowns at one time when you view certain parts of the site. I'd have to split the text blocks apart with more images etc to get around this. Hmm, maybe I will.

i dont mind the number of dropdowns...i like it and i like the image...actually how did you do that? is it just psd or what?
- bumbibot0
The images are made in freehandMX, then post processed in Photoshop, but only to invert them.

nice images, colors. the text in the nav is at a weird size and not rendering properly.
win2000; ie6.

Part of me likes it, the other finds it a little jarring. Interesting navigation idea, I just don't think it's the most intuitive. Plus the scrolling boxes with conent bothers me. If I just had to scroll vertically, fine, but not horizontally just to read a sentence.
I'm on a mac OS 9.2 and ie 5.1

I Love it!
but I find I get lost as to where I am in the site, maybe some sort of reminder/title......

your illustration link goes to the interactive section.
nice though. really nice.

Thanks all.
IE on a mac has an issue with the div's and wont remove those horizontal scroll bars. Quite frustrating.
I'll have a look at why that anchor is not jumping to where is should.
Are the small titles at the top of each text block not enough of an indication as to where you are? Maybe I could change the window title as well or something.
Thanks for you feedback.

too confusing for me. i'd like to see your work.

same, gimme straight goods.
also, lose the too-small-to-read text.

i think the nav is fine, and the work is good too. it's kind of hard to tell what section you are in though.
if you want to get rid of the horz scroll in ie, you have to nest a smaller div with content inside your current one.

Crazy scrollage man. (mac os9 ie5)
Got lost on there pretty easily too.
Not sure about it.

Maybe just a slight monochromatic color change for each section/iFrame, to help with the landmarking?
- warheros0
that is pretty sweet. i dont mind the scroll bars really. you could bump up the font on the title of each section a bit though.
nicely executed. nice work too!

Cheers everyone
I think I'll change it to use iframes in one window, load in each image and loose the horizontal scrolling.
Wont be quite so confusing then, hopefully. And the iFrame should fix that IE on the mac scrolling issue. I'll have a look at making the type bigger.

I can't find any Header.. that confuses me.. just a small "chiuawa" logotype...
- DutchBoy0
i don't know where i end up, i have a feeling your anchors are in the wrong places? or do you use js?
however, when i scroll i cannot see what section is what. You need some headers there my son.
clients and employers don't like to be confused. believe me.

Hey
Ok, well I took the spirit of the old layout and redid it, so for all of you who posted, hopefully
this will address your concerns. And once again, thanks for the input.linkage: http://www.eolian.net.nz/
