Essential fonts on your system

I like to know what are some of the most essential fonts that you have installed on your system for design work. i just got adobe's font folio and theres just too much inside and i dont know which ones would be good to kick start with on my system. so some input on this would be greatly appreciated ;)

right now i am stuck in a pixel font phase. all my other fonts look like garbage to me.
weird i am in need of "folio" for some work coming up...

when i get it, fairplex by emigre... hopefully an xmas present for the set. one of my favorite fonts ever.

trade gothic
itc cushing
clarendon
mrs eavesmix em all up you can get quite a bit of diversity, i have a ton more but those ones always stay active in good ol' atm.

you bought the whole folio?
christ, that's a lot of money.
i let my clients pay for each font that is used. much better imho.
and most fonts in the folio are average.

methinks somebody who actually buys the folio knows something about which fonts are essential and blah blah.
anyways, trade gothic, clarendon, cooper black, aldus, garamond, helvetica, helvetica neue, futura, univers were probably my favs among the font folio.
