does anyone around know anything about Mountain Bikes and if so do you think these are alright?

go for a Kona

I don't know much about Haro mtn bikes, that werx7 looks like a good freeride bike... I haven't really seen any up in the bike park here.
seems the bikes of choice out here are Rocky, Kona, Santa Cruz, Norco, Brodie, Banshee and Cove.
I ride a Rocky RM6 with 8" monster T's myself.

I only ask specifically about Haro because I can get them at wholesale right now. Otherwise I might go w/ a different bike. I used to have a Gary Fisher back in the day that I loved until some rat bastard stole it.

well what kind of riding do you plan to do with it?... I'm looking at the bikes from a downhill/freeride perspective.

I'll mainly be doing city riding but I don't want to have to shy away from taking it to the trail. But, I have to buy 2 (one for the lady) so I can't go for the werx series because even at wholesale they are well over a grand. I find out my price for stuff on monday.

I ride a 2hand Gary Fisher.
I love it!

for what you described I would just go for the V-series... def sounds like it will cover all that you explained and it sounds like a budget consious bike... no need to get more bike than you need as you can always upgrade down the road if you so desire.

i highly recommend schwinn because they are made to last and are made for cheap americans. but specialized also has awesome deals. this is a great time to buy a bike

You might want to try a custom from these guys.
If you're buying a pretty decent bike the prices will be similar and you won't get something made for the masses.

if you are getting wholesale prices you will save a small fortune and probably get a better bike than you could elsewhere. i had a £800 bike direct from schwinn for £300, sadly it was stolen. as was the kona that replaced it. i now have a gt that rides like a bmx :)
