Need advice on printers !

  Hi,
  id appreciate it alot if someone could give me a little help,

  i need to buy a all-in-one printer as a gift to a friend,
  im kinda overwhelmed by all the choices and features, could you guys give me 2 or 3 good buys ?
  something in the range of average quality up to excelent quality , i dont want something cheap , but i dont want to pay for something overpriced... something decent.

  multifunction but i dont need fax,
