how do you avoid to sound snobbish when trying to explain to a client what is better for them? esp. the first time?
sometimes ii feel uncomfortable always educating them and explaining a bevel is not the solution to his image problem.. (etc.)
cheers,

but still, sometimes i look deep in their eyes and they almost start to cry.

its cuz you're like 6'8" and they're afraid. get a pretty girl to do that stuff for ya, and you're winning.
- DutchBoy0
ok.
also, (just a guess)
would it be a good idea if next time i keep my pants on?

give them the bevel, drop shadows, comic sans, whatever they want get paid and then move on.
some clients are just hopeless just not worth the time & effort.

Maybe use hand-puppets, everyone loves a good hand-puppet.

remember the first time you saw a bevel?
remember how much it affected you?
i cried.
but then i learned that there is a time and a place for a bevel.... and it's not in today's graphical designs.

quit starting each sentence with
"Look motherfucker..."
for a start.

makes note:
*buy handpuppets!!
*see if they also fit over other body parts (for that surprise element to make things less formal)

"Well now I'll pass things over to my partner in the south..."

the pretty girl always helps. ive noticed when guys try to be account managers the clients dont always recieve them well. as long as the girl is cute and educated about the technology and the process.. they can end up even pimping them more more dough.
ive seen it happen.
notice DNA has like 2092750270547 female account managers.

Any-the-who, I don't think you'll end up coming off as a snob. All you're doing is what they're paying you for and hopefully it should just instill them with more confidence in you. As long as you're educating and explaing and not talking down to them...

Db: try to refer to stuff/examples of how other've done it / solved similiar problems. It's hard to not sound like you know better than them but that's what you're hired for, right? Or you could always do like good ol' George Lois: http://www.ciadvertising.org/sa/…

shellie got it.
the problem is in pitching clients, where you tell them their stuff is shite basically.
oh and i will see if i can fly you over shellie to do some account managing!! ;P
