Whats the easiest way for 2 macs to talk to each other, I want to copy a hundred meg plus file from someones machine and were not on the same network.
Do I need to be using personal file sharing or something?

tons of ways:
FTP
(no need to download anything... type in FTP address in browser and icon appears on your desktopichat very easy- drag and drop- but would take time with hundreds of files
VNC-
remote desktoping... google it... you can control computers to and from anywhere.http://sourceforge.net/projects/…

If you were in the same room you can connect to each other via network hub, ethernet cable, firewire...

Systems Prefs > Sharing > Services > Turn on FTP access
if your Firewall is on you'll need to tick the box in the Firewall settings next to FTP access
I think that'll do it, if that doesn't work try the Personal Web Sharing settings instead.
